As festive and exciting as this time of the year is, the holiday season can also be quite stressful for many.

I’ve heard it said time & time again, that lots of women make their first path into yoga when they are pregnant, and what a better place to be when you first make your way into yoga then to already be on a path of change.

Here it is, that time of year when we look at what is working well in our lives – and we also look at the things that might not be working so well. Millions of people toast to a brand new year and a brand new them at midnight on December 31. Did you? What are your resolutions for 2012?

For years and years I made (and failed at) New Year’s resolutions, but not everyone fails! I am in the majority, statistically. I recently read that out of those who make New Year’s resolutions, 22% fall off the wagon after a week, and a50% just give up altogether within three months.

Excited? Stressed? A little of both? How do you keep your calm and find balance and inner peace in spite of it all?

Mindfulness for the Holiday Season or Anytime
Yoga is my thing, so of course I suggest it, but did you know yoga can be practiced off the mat, too? Anytime and anywhere. Mindfulness practice is paying attention (on purpose and without judgement) to the present moment exactly the way things are.
